ACTO is an acronym for Alzheimer’s Caregiver Time Out.
Each one of us knows someone touched by this destructive disease. ACTO provides respite to the caregivers of those suffering from Alzheimer’s, memory impairments and the frail elderly in a safe and loving environment.
At ACTO, our wish is for our clients to feel at home away from home. Our clients enjoy breakfast and lunch, bible stories, sing-alongs, chair aerobics, crafts and projects. Together they share in the comfort and fellowship that the staff and many loving volunteers provide.
The care-giving service is free and partially supported by the Greater Valdosta United Way. Other funding comes from individuals, organization donations, and annual fund raising events. There is a nominal fee of $10.00 per day or $75 monthly, whichever is lower, to help cover the cost of supplies that have not been donated.

We are pleased to offer our services of care and time out Tuesday through Thursday from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm. Individuals with Alzheimer's disease, memory impairments, and the frail elderly are eligible to become ACTO clients.
If you have a friend or loved one who may benefit from our services, please call at (229) 245-9094.
